Dan, according to online source you are correct:
Whereas its stock 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine is capable of producing 291 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, Mitsubishi added an HKS turbo pack, a new Janspeed exhaust system with a high-flow sports catalytic convertor, and a bespoke ECU remap to increase the output to a staggering 440 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 412 pound-feet of torque at 3,100 rpm.
I always thought it was MHI-18 that was utilized. Perhaps someone can confirm.
Also here specifically mentioning 7460:
This is a very rare example with this being number 30 of just 40 world wide! The vehicle has been given the FQ-440 MR upgrade package which includes; ECU Remap Developing 440 BHP @ 6,800 RPM & 412lb.ft @ 3,100 RPM, HKS GTII 7460 KAI Sports Turbo, Janspeed Manifold & Exhaust System with HJS High Flow Catalytic Convertor, Janspeed Intake & Intercooler Piping Kit, Upgraded Fuel System, Ralliart Conrods and Big End Bolts, HKS Head Gasket, Dodson Motorsport Upgraded SST Gearbox, Alcon Front & Rear Braking System, Specially Designed Project Mu Brake Calipers, Eibach Coil Springs, Millers Nano-Drive Racing Engine Oil, Unique Build Number Badge.
I greatly appreciate you finding that information! Particularly about the Dodson upgraded transmission as that isn't listed anywhere. I wondered how they were coping with the additional power.
Additionally,
I was told by an HKS rep that the HKS GTIII now superseeds the original turbo and if they do any service on the cars that require a turbo replacement, they will utilize the GTIII instead.
They commissioned UK companies to do the FQ440 upgrade. It was for the UK market only !.
