Anybody running wide 18's with a wide tyre on an evo 5/6? Wanted to know if you've trimmed the front inside lip by the door or folded the lip over?

Thanks

Just an update to my post above....

After filling the tank up and having two people in the car plus some luggage in the boot, it did rub

It wasn't much, but it's enough for me to roll the rear arches a bit.

I want to use some 245 40 18 tyres on my vi as track tyres as I already have them, I will use my other 8’’ X 18’’ wheels with road tyres (235/40/18 Michelin ps4’s) for road/ wet use. So I need some other wheels, I am using ohlins and the car is not too low but I do need 18’’ to clear the brakes so any idea what width and offset wheels I will need? Minimum 8.5’’ for 245’s I thought? Will they fit or 9’’ ? And what et?

They sound a bit big, tbh.

When I had 18x9J ET27 and 225/40R18 tyres on my VI, I got scrubbing on Ohlins. I wasn't even running that low either.

i think you may have issues with wheels rubbing arches. If i remember, 8.5 would be widest for you and 235 as opposed to 245. With 245 being used on track you may have issues unless you're running different offset but if you do that bare in mind width of the callipers

Hey guys.
does anyone have any experience with Enkei RS05-RR?
I am looking to run 18x9.5 but unsure of offset?
i have KW variant 3 coilovers and i also have rolled fenders at the rear and the 'evo dave' front fender mod.
just wanted to know how wide i can go and not have any rubbing etc...
cheers

Most Rays at 9-9.5J will need to have an offset in the 20’s. Why not just order the wheels in the correct offset and save yourself having to run a spacer? I know I’d rather never run spacers.

I have the 343mm Alcons, and I’ve so far been able to fit:

17x8 +35 Enkei
17x8.5 +30 Rays TE37
17x9 +27 Team Dynamics 1.2
17x9 +22 Rays TE37

HTH some folks.

Can anyone who had bola B1 please confirm

I have evo 9 gt bought bola b1 they said on the alloy that it is 18 inch 8.5
They did the tyres I would require would be 235 40 18
However when we tried putting theese on we discovered the tyres are to small so when I contacted the company that sold me them they said oh we sent you the 18 inch 9.5
As bola advised that is what is required to fit over brembo

Since then I contacted alloy wheel company I purchased them for and they have stated I should go with 255 /35 /18
When I doubled checked with bola they say I should go with 235/40/18

On research I have found it should be 245/40/18

Can anyone confirm that actually have them fitted what goes on and doesn’t rub

Also when we tried on the front Wheel of the car it looks like it won’t clear the brakes
