Question Selling an older car

Just in the process of starting to sell my daily runner. However I still need to take some good pictures. The car is really good and I have spent quite a bit of money on it.

The issue I have is I don't know what to set the price at, as there are few around and although car is higher mileage than others I would say the outside condition is better than the few around.

Off course it has the odd issue at being 25 years old! But being a Merit does this give it the same excitement level as a Evo RS???

Do I sell on auction, say on ebay and start cheap and just see what happens.
And try Retro rides etc with a set price

Just waiting for the V5 to come back on its original number plate

Below is the for sale advert I have been writing so far. . . .
----------------------------------------------------

Vauxhall Astra 1.4 Merit finished in white - ‘Betsie’ edition

A simple ‘Merit’, named Betsie. She features mod cons such as central locking and a drivers airbag!
However on a positive side not much to go wrong with her! and with the added benefit of exercise when winding windows up and down.

Features:
5 doors
1995 ’N’ Reg
Just under 135,000 miles.
Petrol
Automatic Box
2 keys
Central locking
Drivers airbag
3 former keepers (I will make it 4)
MOT due on 9th January 2021

I would say pretty good condition for age and getting rare to see on the roads - a future classic?
But please be aware that the car is over 25 years old so its has various small imperfections.

Drives great and has been used as a daily driver for over 5 years.

Good points:
Very comfortable
No Slouch - for a 1.4 drives pretty quickly
Has had many parts replaced
Not much can go wrong! being a Merit
Four good tyres
Still has an untouched rear parcel shelf
Car has a box full of previous service history which is included.
Recent Rover MG wheel trims (these look the closest to Merit trims I could find)

Bad points:
No stereo is included with the car. The wiring is fine and adapter is attached to covert Vauxhall wiring to a newer stereo
Headlining is coming unstuck
Rear reversing lights are very temperamental
Drivers side mirror does not adjust from inside very well
Slight rust patch (which has been looked after) on drivers side wheel arch
Rear arches have a little bit of rust coming/has been painted over
Bonnet has quite a few stone chips which have been touched up
No Boot carpet - however there is a plastic custom fit tray which is better anyway.

Has a big box of history and receipts. Going back to 2008/9 - which are the previous owners
I have listed the more recent ones including the engine rebuild due to the Head Gasket blowing.

30/01/2020
2 New front tyres

10/01/2020
2 Rear tyres
New handbrake cable
New o/s/r Shock absorber
New o/s/r brake hose
New n/s/r brake pipe

28/10/2019
New Spark Plugs fitted
New Bosch Battery

22/08/2018
New front discs and pads
New front track rod ends
New o/s/r coil spring
New brake pipe n/s/f

23/05/2018
Exhaust - New front pipe, middle box, and back box

06/03/2018
New HT leads

01/06-2016 - Engine rebuild
New Cambelt
Water pump
Head re-skimmed
Oil filter and Spark Plugs

01/11/2015
New front windscreen - due to crack

The time it took you to write that was worth more than a 25 years old 1.4 Fastra with a silly name

Understeer: the front of the car hits the wall, oversteer: the rear of the car hits the wall, horsepower: how fast you hit the wall, torque: how far the wall moves

Flog it on an auction and see what you get.

I wouldn't have thought it worth more than a few hundred quid, but you never know.

You'd get €50 here weighing it in. If it was a 3 door, a GSI or something good then it would be worth more but, its only a 5 door 1.4 beater. Stick it on Facebook owners group, vintage group or eBay and hope for the best.

Just checking the car is much better than that, but fear it might be used in parts when it just wants to be driven still

Not to be rude, but I can't imagine there being a stampede for parts off it.

Best kept as a runner.

Not easy to get the front wings all ready so many lost in the Scrap-age scheme.
It 100% needs to be kept as a runner - I don't want the car broken up
