Oh I didn't twig that this quite aggressive and abusive guy was a red TME owner, perhaps explains a few things.

Now I'm not knocking the red TME it's a desirable model which many fans would like to own. It's an ionic car. I do however fell things need to be put into perspective for Hank / others with regards to its rarity and the need for its total preservation.

It clear many more red TME exist then originally thought resulting in it being no rarer then any other TME colour.
As a model on its own ( red TME ) it's far more common than many other models/ colours / configurations.

For instance...
8 FQ 400 - far rarer
10 FQ 400/440 - far rarer
9 FQ 360 - far rarer
9 GT - rarer
RS cars in any model - rarer
8 MR in their individual colours - rarer
Yellow evos in any model - far rarer
7 FQ 300 - rarer
8 FQ 330 - rerer
Extreme modles in any colour - far rarer
5 in red ( like the WRC car ) - far rarer

Ironically the OP,s black TME is by far the rarest TME colour,as said above its not a dig at the red TME it's a great car but perhaps people need to realise it's not actually that rare especially when compared the other evo configurations.

My point being there really is no need for there total preservation due to there numbers so if someone wants to abuse one or tow whatever with one then crack on really I think.

Just my own opinion of course.

His opinion is his opinion, yours is yours, if people want to use their cars as they use them fantastic personally I don't have the funds to do a 10k refurbish on the underside of mine, either of them. If people wish to just polish and take out on sunny days, why is that such an issue ? I've two other cars to use in the crap weather ( 4x4) but that's my choice. Your right, there are rarer models of Evo than the Red TME but I wanted that colour and glad I bought one. I've not bought it to make money, if I won the lottery I'd have loads of cars but still keep the TME's because I wanted it

This thread has far exceeded my expectations. Brilliant. I can't find any pictures of it at santa pod 10years ago just to really stoke the fire.

It is prob rarer than a red TMe and I have seen more FQ360 than black TME but that is a different thread altogether. Either way back on topic.

The muddier the better and track photos are always good!

Hank.... I found this. I was going that fast avoiding trees I got the mud on the roof and boot. Quite an impressive achievement I think!

I don't have photoshop to take out the 4wd badge.

It isn't a show car but by any means but isn't rough. Bodywork is tired but that comes down to cost. As long as engine and chassis are sweet I am happy. The rest can be sorted as and when.

Did you see it at Leeds castle?

Join date 2013, ah, now I understand.

I bought my 6 in 2000, and unless you bought your TME new, it will be rough compared to the condition of mine when I bought it, and mines got hammered every time I've driven it. It must be quite sad to not be able to drive a car as it was designed to be driven, because you're scared of losing money.

No trouble will. I accept it isn't the best one out there. I enjoyi it and happy to show that I do. As should others.

Been good seeing some others out there. It should be done more. I want to plan a trip to germany next year with some ring virgins.

And your point is ? As I said I don't need to use it that's my choice

I actually think the underside of the OP's car looks pretty dam good considering its a uk car , it's an honest car. Better then a 'mint' one with fresh underseal on hiding horror stories.

Think it's a bit unfair to call it rough really , the guy clearly enjoys and uses his car more than most so it's going to pick up the odd battle scar isn't it.

I'm not wishing to cause arguments, as I've previously said, people will use their cars as they wish that is their choice, just because I chose not to use mine in the bad weather shouldn't worry anybody
