I know alot of people are aware of the issue of faulty Evo X Fuel pump relay's but the last 3 cars I have had on the dyno all have had a faulty original one fitted.
The cars come in and they are generally driving fine but when we a power run there is nowhere near enough fuel going in.
The AFR should be under approx. 12 AFR when on full throttle, but with a faulty relay they barely get under 14 AFR which causes massive temperatures in the engine.
The relays are cheap enough and they can be changed in less than a minute, they are available from your local dealer.
I know this sounds like scaremongering but there is no way you will see the issue without either having a fueling check or an engine failure.
Hi Ant,
I've ordered some Depo lights from you, any chance I could get one of these relays at the same time please? I can just forward via PayPal or give you a call?
Cheers
My X FQ-330 has part number MR588567 in that spot (black relay - same as the three ones in a line in the bottom of the pic above). Is that normal or should I replace with MR122409?
I've got the same old MR588567 in mine, great!
Also noticed I have a slighty different fuse layout compared to that photo?
(I don't know much about fuses and stuff)
Green ones are fine, there have been a few changes but only ever heard of the original giving problems. Not an expensive change if it gives you peace of mind though
Yeah just had a look now he's only got MAF's and a brochure left
