So I'm sitting at home with my cuppa like so many others during this rather surreal moment in time on a sunny Sunday Morning...everyday feels like a Sunday & some form of sanity is really needed at this moment in time.
As some will know we have recently sold our last project... our new project arrived at Southampton docks two days before they shut down.
It was touch & go as to if we would even be able to transport it here from the docks ...but it finally arrived & it was definately worth the wait since January, when we won it at auction in Japan. This was a personal import, Jarlath of Imeka Cars acted as our agent in Japan, helping us with translations on the auction sheets, bidding on the Evo & finally the shipping of it over to the UK. We couldn't have sourced the Evo without his help & it brought to an end a year long search for our new Evo :coolsm::mitsi:
(Note - as this is a personal import we are responsible for any issues on the car not seen in Japan. I would not hesitate to recommend Jarlath to anyone looking to import their own car & needing help with the import process:thumbup
So as I know you'd rather look at some pictures, here are a couple of teaser shots for you :smthumbup:roll:
There are plenty more to come & the project is already well under way :mitsi:
Finally found time for a little update :smthumbup
Except for a few little bits the E9 is mainly back together & currently sorned for the winter while we wait for the front splitter to arrive ...I'll let the pictures tell the latest progress story
The rad brackets were looking tired so these were treated to a little freshen up...
Well I normally sit in the drivers seat and it's just in front of me :lol:.... Sorry, I couldn't resist since we all need a bit of a laugh with the way the world is at the moment :smthumbup
To be honest I've only managed to drive the car up & down the garden so far but I like it... It's also detachable which makes life so much easier when working on the interior
Very nice!!! Black is gonna test your patience alright, such a nice colour when detailed properly tho... So much love for the E9 at the moment. :mitsi:
Oh I know ...we've owned black cars in the past and as you rightly say when they are clean they look great but soon as a little dirt hits the paintwork they can look tatty :lol:
The Nardi wheel was fitted to the car when we purchased it  We had a Nardi steering wheel fitted to a Subi we once owned and loved it :coolsm::mitsi:
Thankyou :smthumbup:smthumbup... Yep, it's taking shape now... We're pleased with the way it's turning out
 The brembos were looking a little sorry for themselves prior to a bit of paint
Some updates ... So we found the rear tyres were just touching the inner arches when cornering🙈... We decided to change the rims & found a set of Evo X rims... We plan to change these for a set of Rays in the new year but they look good and fit perfectly 👍👍
Before...
After...
This is a temporary look .. Hopefully some Rays will follow soon but least the wheels are no longer touching the arches 👍😃
Next we wanted to make the gauge set up look a little neater... After a lot of searching we finally found a gauge holder that fitted the dash contours perfectly 👍
Before...
After ...
We decided to change the Tein suspension for some Ohlins... What a difference this has made to the handling... The Evo is so much quieter on the roads now too 👍😃
While waiting to to take the Evo to see Gary at APT to fit the suspension we sent off the centre console to be carbon wrapped...
It was finally time to visit Gary to fit the Ohlins...
Not many people will take the time to lay out a towel to place the new suspension parts on so they don't get marked... But APT do👍...I can't say thankyou enough to them for their care and professionalism 😎
The E9 finally attended it's first show at Silverstone, Japfest 🙌😃 it was a fun day and lovely to meet both old and new faces 😎 there was some stunning cars there...I think the E9 is gonna turn into a bit of a money pit 😂😂
Thanks 👍🙏😃... I've not bothered replacing the handbrake handle before but I'm plsd I did on this occasion 😎 I think Ross is the cheapest for these at mo if your looking to purchase one.
😂😂... I'm sure your gonna post up some pics soon of your Evo out & about 😉😎👍
I like the AMS, it's well suited to the Evo. I find I don't have to reach so far for it making gear changes smoother.
Well as I’ve not been on here for a while, I’ve just been through this thread and wow , it’s looking just fantastic sue (and Ja ) 😜 , hopefully will get to see it in the flesh this year 😊 missing the old gang and can’t wait to be back out there 👍
Would be lovely to meet up this year at some point. If you fancy any shows Ian has one posted up at mo and I have two on the go. Would be great to see you 👍
