Thanks - hand job it is, then

I've had a few different sets of suspension myself - on my previous IX as well.

It was me who (bought and) ran the original GT1 prototypes on my IX for Jerrick, alongside his suspension guru partner - John, from Black Art Design. We went through several different iterations of valve design and shim setup before John and Jerrick settled on a final production design and specification. I'd definitely chose them again, knowing what the internals are made from, but find it difficult to decide to invest so much into a car that less than a year ago cost me less than £10k to purchase. It's the right choice, I know, but bring a third car, and being a bit tight, I haven't been able to finally decide, yet...

As an aside, I don't believe that MeisterR and BC are the same. They may well come out of the same factory in Taiwan (?), and that they almost certainly have exactly the same spring supplier, but I know the basic MeisterR CRD are different to BCs...

Keep up the good work on the car, dude, I'm enjoying your progress. I'll be posting some of my own later today.

All the best

Mark H

I must have been misinformed

Personally for the money I paid through 6two1 outweighs the performance of these yellowspeed units, I was in the market for KW or such like due to the longevity of the product using alloys and plastics and the inverted damper technology, but With a good coat of grease and my coil covers I think these will last a while. I havenít really pushed the car to its limits yet but from my testing on B road and street driving (in Mexico) I can say Iím happy.

Up next is going to be some used Cusco underbody bracing and some spacers hopefully.

Glad you are enjoying the build I think itís growing into a good one !

Finally fitted the keys racing gearknob, I had to buy a shift extension and cut it down and machine it to fit inside the knob as itís a grub screw tyre and not a threaded one things you have to do for matching parts....

Well it feels weird driving with it compared to the TOP SECRET one I was running.

Next on the look out for wheels or a louder exhaust if anyone has one let me know

Enjoy

Excellent thread keep up the good work, thinking of buying some coilovers but reading up on the subject i'm getting the general impression that to make it worthwhile i'm going to have to spend £1500 upwards, how are you finding your coilovers? are they a good improvement over your original setup?

cheers.

Thanks mate

Yes the coilovers are night and day Over the original set up, I recommend these to anyone who is wanting a good road set up.

I was debating ohlins or some high end KW but I just donít need it as the car is primarily on the road with the odd sprint or track day. Now Iím not saying that I wouldnít of liked either of those but with the yellow speeds I have been able to spend money elsewhere, I would say unless you are racing or chasing times or figures you will be ok with something like I have bought.

Regards

Ell
