Non Runner Evo X Advice needed

I currently have a EVO X FQ330 SST. Last year I had a new engine installed with new turbo and pumps etc... Stupidly I ran the new engine in on running in oil for a few to many miles and done the bearings and possibly the crank.

Now here's my problem... A friend of mine was going to carry out the work on it but sadly he passed away unexpectedly last Thursday. I don't think I'm going to be able to afford to carry out the repair work on the car via a garage. The car still has about £7k finance outstanding on it (I think).

So my question would be what would the best way of selling the car. I understand I'll lose out loads but not selling it running. What do you think I could get for it as a non runner? It's done about 50k and is in very good condition.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Ah yes sorry,

So cars done 50k miles, Blue, 2010, I'm the third owner. Everything in the engine bay is pretty much brand new from when I had the new engine installed.

Sorry to hear about this bro, sounds nasty for you.

Best of luck. Perhaps speak to a vendor like Auto Torque, they do a lot of work with X's

What price do you have in mind? Id have thought it will be worth less than is owed on finance at the moment. Will be a hard sell too as people are scared enough of SST gearboxes, so buying a SST that cant be test driven first will be difficult

10's dont make big money anyway, and lately a few good 10's have sold for little money

Is the engine and turbo standard?

If so, unfortunately I can't see it being worth much at all.

I thought I was going have a problem with it being an SST. I'm just looking for someone to take it for what ever is left on the finance (need to check exact figure)

There was a Forged engine for sale on here and one on a Facebook breakers.

It might be better to buy a built engine off here from a trusted member or Trader and fit it, then you would have a running car to sell or keep. As Stu said, not much value in X's at the minute unless low miles and good history. An SST that can not be driven will be difficult to sell as not only do you have the expense of the engine but the unknown condition of the SST gearbox which could take £1000's off the value too if needing any work

Some parts here that may help get your engine running.

Good luck and hope you get it sorted.

I maybe wrong, but I suspect you maybe will need to be prepared to take a hit, i'd be surprised if you'd get 7k, or even close

you may have a better return if you can strip it and sell it for parts

For what it costs, i'd try my luck with ebay, and since its free, put it up for sale on here too. You need someone with an engine looking for a car, or someone planning to forge an engine anyway

Shame its not manual, that would have made things a little easier

Stu
