Evo X removing front reg plate holder help

Hi all,

I am wanting to remove my front reg plate holder which when I took plate off they is 3 screws holding it to which when I turn they just spin so it makes me think it is a bumper off job? Can anyone tell me if it is a full bumper off job?

They can be a real pain!

As best I can recall you can get to them buy removing the undertray, but that is a pain in it's own right, or I think you might be able to do it by removing or loosening off the N/S arch liner.

Edited to add:- If the car is an SST the above methods may not work because of the gearbox oil cooler might be in the way.

i had to take the bumper as the nut and screw were rusted on together. they have a rubber boot that then compresses as you tighten them, in the end i had to cut the rubber to get the bolts off
not sure if this help any

Just pull it, the rubber will compress through the bumper holes
