Evo 5 Central Locking

Have an issue with my central locking. When i lock it with the key manually it locks all doors but only opens the drivers door. I changed the door lock but still the same. Anything else i can check. Its the single button key and button dosent work. Have a battery ordered for the key.

I’ve not got central locking on mine as it’s an RS so can only comment on what other cars have done before.

A lot of central locking (remote) will unlock the drivers door on its own and with a further click the rest of the doors. So in effect you can’t do that with a key!

Yeh it’s kind of a mild version of an anti car jack , if you’re alone you only need the drivers door to open leaving the others closed for security. Once you get your battery hopefully that’s the case

Evo 5 should open and close all doors with the key in the drivers door. The switches are known to go faulty.

Was it a new lock or 2nd hand?

It could be the circuit from the lock open switch.

Two wires into the switch, Brown/Yellow and Brown/White.

The Brown/Yellow tells the ECU to send a signal to the door locks to open and the Brown/White tells the locks to close.

With the doors locked (hold the drivers door closed switch down whilst the door is open) earth the Brown/Yellow wire and if the wiring and ECU is okay the doors should unlock.

If they don't unlock then try earthing the same wire at the ETACS ECU.

Is that the module under the drivers seat?

I think the Etacs is on the back of the fuse box under the dash by drivers leg

Yep, the lock / unlock wires are in connector B-77, pictured.

Ok earthed each of the wires mentioned but neither seems to react. Tried at the door and the etacts unit.

Does the etacs unit have to be coded to the car or is it plug and play?
