Complete noob power advice
Hi all,
Im completely new to the forum and new to owning an Evo. Owning an Evo * has been a dream of mine for many years and I finally picked up a completely stock JDM Evo 8. My question is regarding power increase. I don't want to go mad, so what are the "first steps" to getting some extra power from the engine? Based on my own research, I've made a list of the following; 1. Induction kit (HKS is my choice) 2. high flow exhaust (HKS again) 3. remap? (not sure where though, Im based in South West) 4. Possibly needs a new fuel pump after a map? Any advice is welcome ![]() Andy |

will need to be full exhaust 3" including downpipe and decat to get best figures.
Induction or airbox mod (do a search and you will find out how to do this) And like stated most certainly the fuel pump before mapping. What mods are already on it and what model 8 is it you have?

It’s a JDM FQ300. So the one with the carbon wing. I’d like to push a little extra HP out of it. But I’m not chasing big numbers. Nothing that will cost thousands and require new clutch and rods and valves and so on |

350ish would be nice. I’d be happy with that. |

Russ fellows decat and cat back exhaust would be my choice. loud or quiet up to you. A ctec modular turbo elbow and down pipe would be nice also.
