JDM double din Stereo

Hi all.
I’m brand new and have a question already.
The Eco 8 I’ve just purchased is a fresh Japanese import that comes with a Japanese double din aftermarket unit (with a Japanese lady shouting something at me every time I turn the car on)
I want to change this straight away and was wondering if anyone knows whether the JDM evo8 is the same connections as UK ones?
Basically, can I buy a UK head unit and hopefully just swap them out?

Thanks a lot.

Andy

I will once I actually pick up the car.
It’s still with the dealer waiting for the DVLA to register it. But I think I’d like to swap it out anyway to get the one I actually want with DAB and Apple car play.

Ah! You’re probably completely correct. It DOES have a toll collector thing.
I just assumes it was the radio. Have you removed yours?

Your car is the Japanese version of K.I.T.T

When I got my JDM IX GT wagon it came with a old single din uk radio in the double din slot, this used a fudged cabling to connect the head unit to the JDM loom. I purchased this loom adapter off ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PC2-46-4-...72.m2749.l2649
and it worked perfectly when I fitted an alpine ILx-F903 head unit so I imagine any double din UK head unit that uses normal ISO connectors should work ok.

Hello, thanks for that. I’ll try connect a UK double din first before ordering any looms. Hopefully they’ll all like up as it is
