Removing transfer box on drive?

I've got a new transfer box coming and I've been quoted about £300 (£50 hr) to get it done by my local mitsubishi specialist.

Few people have said I can do it myself but just want a few options.

I'm pretty mechanically minded and done a few gearbox and engine changes on previous cars.

Can I do it on my drive with some axle stands or am I best to take it to a garage to get it done and pay the money?

Cheers

Done loads of gearboxes and clutches on my back on e7-9 Paul and never once taken the subframe out. Time depends on how pushed for time I am  2h to strip down is possible though. Bit longer to build up and fill all fluids etc though.

I must add though I'm on a 100% flat floor and quite well equipped with good jacks, tools and stands etc. Wouldn't fancy it on the average driveway!

Who is your local Mitsi specialist? It shouldn't take them 6 hours with a ramp:confused:
