Evo 5 remap of standard ECU -- Possible?

Hi

I have spoken to a couple of mappers who has advised that they dont map the standard ECU and have advised to go for a stand alone system.

Obviously I am not here to say they are wrong but is anyone else running a stock mapped Evo 5 ecu?

Any help much appriciated.

I think Gaz @ CPP does stock ecu remaps. Worth speaking to him.
Cheers.

I have pretty much the same mods on a standard ECU and it made decent power - mapped by Simon Norris although Melksham is one hell of a trek from you.

Would have thought a standalone system is a bit overkill unless you are future-proofing?

Of course the mappers will suggest a stand-alone, they may as well supply the lube while they’re at it too! The standard ECU is fine for stage 1 mods, mine is the same level and running the standard ECU just fine.

A lot of the ‘tuners’ out there now really do take the **** when it comes to charging for work and suggesting mods.

Gaz can defo map the stock ECU.

Short of having to use two sets of injectors the standard ECU is good for any stage of mods, I recently manged 667whp on a stock ECU with no issues. I'd only recommend a stand alone if you require true, overrun anti lag capability.
