***Warning*** - Evo X Fuel Pump Relay
Hi,
I know alot of people are aware of the issue of faulty Evo X Fuel pump relay's but the last 3 cars I have had on the dyno all have had a faulty original one fitted. The cars come in and they are generally driving fine but when we a power run there is nowhere near enough fuel going in. The AFR should be under approx. 12 AFR when on full throttle, but with a faulty relay they barely get under 14 AFR which causes massive temperatures in the engine. The relays are cheap enough and they can be changed in less than a minute, they are available from your local dealer. I know this sounds like scaremongering but there is no way you will see the issue without either having a fueling check or an engine failure. The part number is MR122409 And here is a picture of where it is located |

Good thread and posting Ant, highlighting this again as not everybody knows.
Thankfully I have changed mine and I also did my Brother's X too as he wouldn't have known since he is not on here. Fitted the blue Omron relays. |
