Where did you get the sensor from to go in the intercooler pipe?

John Grant sells them as I got one with a IAT sensor (GM) type all you have to do is get it tapped and welded in place.

Try Norris Designs, be surprised if they don't have them on the shelf. That's where I got mine from.

Bit of an update.

Bigger 3.5 inch ETS intercooler fitted with shortest route boost pipes, 2.5 inch lower pipes and 3 inch top pipe. Now mapped to 1.8 bar low boost and 2.4 bar high. Chuffed with the torque figure of nearly 540ft/lbs from a 2.0L in an ambient temperature of 24 degrees (mapped in Sept).

Peak power still the same due to turbo being maxed in terms of flow, but the torque curve has moved left, up and right. The rpm limit now set at 8700 and still makes over 400ft/lbs at 8600 rpm. Addition of Kiggly oil restrictor and a Tomei oil sump scraper to help with the oil issues at high rpm. This is as far as I will take this setup and will stay this way until I maybe go stroker route and a PT 6262 next year sometime. Really chuffed with how it drives on the road now. The response is incredible and amazed that the bigger pipes and intercooler have actually moved the torque curve to the left. I know I'm running the turbo pretty hard on high boost, but to gain everywhere is great.

Bigger ETS IC literally shoe horned behind the cusco brace, can't tell with bumper on.

Tomei Ti Extreme exhaust system fitted. Sounds amazing and can't get over the weight and quality.

Engine bay looks loads neater now with the shortest route boost pipework.

Next updates going on next week are new Ralliart and std bushes for the rear camber control arms. New rotors for my front Alcons and some Eibach Pro 10mm spacers.

Original plan was to get to around 550 bhp. Hence staying 2.0L. This quickly went out the window haha and I became power crazy, fell in love with the car and made a decision to keep the car for many many years. Not wanting to change the engine too quickly, I decided I'd run it for 2 years and around 15k miles (currently on 8k miles) and change it down the line. Turbo wouldn't be that much after selling my current one, new injectors, fuel pump, crank n pistons plus labour wouldn't be too bad imo. Obviously if I knew this when I did my build I'd have gone stroker then. Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing?!?

Yeah don't like to think about it ha! Have to spend it on something though. Don't keep track of it tbh. Just spend and enjoy it whenever I can. Have done 8k miles in just over a year, so it gets used a lot too!

It doesn't matter how much it costs its all in the fun you can have and there s no rich people in the graveyard, I worked out last night that I have spent £22,000 on my vi including buying it but it gives me lots off enjoyment in driving it, polishing, and being a member off a great club (MLR).
