Nice. Used to do some 650's for 6 or so reps back in the day. But that's insane

I'm sorry but IMO if you can't do 10-12 reps of a certain weight, then you aren't "doing" that weight.

I'd be more impressed if he did half that weight with 3 sets of 12 reps.

Nothing wrong with one rep max ;-)

A guy does the heaviest raw squat of all time and you'd be more impressed by something that most decent level amateur bodybuilders could do?

Single reps are kind of what Powerlifting and Olympic Weight Lifting are based around so your conclusion seems a little surprising...

I wonder how long it will be before he's in for his first knee op.

As I said, my opinion.
Not impressed by single reps. Even strong man competitions have exercises that prove it's not just a one off fluke.

Just my opinion but being strong is about being able to repeat.

How can a test of strength be likened to a fluke. If someone moves a set weight. Fluke doesnt come into it. Its raw power.

3 sets of 12... have you just started going to the gym or something?! that's not even a strength/build training rep quantity!

Fluke might be wrong word. Bet he couldn't do the same weight the next day.

No, but you've got the be able to do least 6 reps to say you have "done" a weight, IMO

Wow that's impressive !
I remember when I watched a bodybuilder called Simon Lancaster leg press over a 1000 lbs for reps back in the day at progress house gym in hadleigh Essex .
Good find

Everyone has their own opinion but I couldn't disagree more.

Fitness/Strength comes in many different disciplines. Why is 6 reps ok but 1 rep isn't? Depends on your goal.
