Searching for Evo X FQ330 SST
Hi Everyone,
I'm a recent joiner to the forum. I've been keeping my eye out for Evo X FQ330 SST for a while and have been doing my research here about all the issues. I've come across a potential advert on Autotrader and was just wondering what the true market value is for this at the moment. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-det...2011045779315? It looks like a relisting by a trader since the same one was sold on facebook last month: https://www.facebook.com/commerce/li...are_attachment looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on this. thanks in advance. |

I have a blue SST that ive had for 4 or 5 years now, and have to admit I like it far more than I expected, after owning an evo 5 for a long time. From the pics and description, it looks to have been looked after, mot history suggests it will need a pair of tyres soon, and mentions an oil leak in the past so maybe worth checking. The main things to look for, besides the general stuff that applies to any car, is the AYC (no faults shown on the dash, after a drive and everything up to temperature), and the gearbox, the gearbox being the biggy. Give it a good drive, make sure there is no strange activity in all 3 modes, no slip on hard acceleration, no revs fluctuating, no funny noises or gear select issues, no loud rattles on idle and drive, going from forward to reverse is fine. If the gearbox is cold, they can feel a little awkward, but once up to temperature, everything should feel fine. 1 thing I would say is dont expect the gear change to be brutal / aggressive, even in s-sport, Normal should just feel like an auto, sport a little more positive on changes, s-sport more so, but its not aggressive (like I was expecting)
Only other thing for me, is price seems steep, but i'mnot sure what prices are like these days, I dont follow them, miles are low, its a good colour and tidy, sadly it doesn't look like it has the half leather though. Unless things have changed, sst's use to sell for a couple of grand less, as I say, no idea now though Stu

Hi Stu,
Thanks for the advice, will definitely make sure to check out the SST has no issues and see if there is an oil leak. I've just scrolled through some of the price history on Facebook and can see that indeed they don't sell unless priced cheaper so I'll keep that in mind (especially since we're in a recession) I'll make some enquiries and see how this goes. If any other blue sst fq330's come up, please let me know. Thanks |
