Best way to 'warm' a car is to just drive it. Having it sitting idling doesn't really warm it up as efficiently as many seem to think. Im always sure to drive mine at least 10 minutes before going near any boost. If the journey is 5 minutes long then no boost for me. I do open the bonnet and let the temps come down for a few minutes after a good blast out.

My previous exhaust/flame thrower was a straight through pipe, no silencers and decatted, it would set off car alarms and frighten small children and pensioners so I had to change it asap. Bye bye droanville. Much better. Cant hear it much inside the car now.
I was told it shouldnt be louder than the original fit, but dont know how robustly they they follow that

As for leaving a car to idle to warm, is a false feeling of security, yes the engine warms, but all the transmission oils are still cold, its only movement that will warm those

Straight through.... I got done 40 years ago (yes they had cars then) for driving a motor vehicle so that the exhaust gasses passed into the atmosphere before going into an expansion chamber or some other contrivance! Cost me 20 big ones

They should think themselves lucky. My brothers 67 Camaro rattled all the ornaments off his neighbours mantelpiece every time he backed it out of the garage

When I used to use the 5RS as a daily and it broke my old neighbour pulled me up and asked what happened to the car... I said it broke - it's at the garage... she told me she was late for work and had slept in... turns out she was using me leaving for work in the evo as her alarm clock!

It wasn't particularly loud but I lived in courtyard so the sound bounced around a fair bit. I never use to leave it idling on the drive as I'm both courteous and understand it does **** all good for the car.

Titanium exhaust is on my wish list so the street will soon know what that means.....IF it isnt droany. The one thats on now far too quiet from inside the car. Only get a bellow under bridges or bouncing off nearby walls while on the juice pedal....and the occasional epic fire cracker effect at higher revs on overrun which never gets old .

Never liked ott exhausts and never had or wanted one on any car although a tad more volume wouldn't be such a bad thing.

I think this letter of approach was very correct and civilized from your neighbors.

If it was me I’d be putting a quieter exhaust on the car, and as others said drive off straight away.

You have to live around these people. Not worth arguing over a car exhaust!

shouldnt let ur car run on tick over for too long when first stared and cold as this is when most of engine wear take's place....start car and drive off straight away and let car warm up to normal operating temperature and then drive as fast as you want or allowed to...30 secs is along time to a neighbour who hate's all things fast and loud...
