Kw clubsport for Evo 6,info needed
Hi,ive narrowed it down to gettting KW clubsport for my Evo 6 in the near future. (id love nitron but 4k is not doable for me)
Thing is,they dont do the clubsport for a 6,only 7/8/9...so ive been told there is a shim/spcer kit for the bottom of the front struts? Also,ive been told that the top mounts wont fit properly and will be all wonky ![]() So,will i have to buy the full kit for a 7/8/9 and then fork out for 6 top mounts? ....and what top mounts do people recommend (im assuming just the front top mounts needed?) Cheers for any info ![]()

Why don't you ask KW? I think they prefer questions like this via email. Alan Hook will most likely be the guy that responds.
In the meantime I know someone with a 6 with KWs, but I'd need to check which version - they may be a Competition 2-way. EDITED: The 6 owners tells me he has off the shelf Clubsports with no shims, but with Competition top mounts. If you PM me I can tell you the owner of the car and KW will most likely be able to find exactly what they supplied to him.

I've got KW Clubsports with shims and competition top mounts on my V1. Ant at Indigo supplied, fitted and set them up. One of the best mods I've ever done.

Sorry to go a bit off topic... But I've just had nitron r1 thrown into the mix.
Kw clubsports or nitron r1.? (car is 80% track) and I'm used to tein super racing hard suspension.

I don't have any experience with Nitrons but would guess that they and definately the KW's would be a big improvement over the Teins.
My car is 90 percent track use and the KW's gave me nearly 4 secs on a two and a half mile track over the BC's I had fitted previously.

They come with 10kg front 8kg rear, but you can specify different when you order if you want. I've gone for 10/9 on Clive's advice and that give a nice neutral balance. He also suggested 11/10 if you wanted stiffer.

Funnily enough, I've just sent this info to someone else looking to fit KW Clubsport to their Evo 6;
100/80 would be a good starting point, firm, but not hard by all means. The damping plays a much bigger role in perceived ride quality than spring rates. If you found you wanted more rearward balance, you could change the rear springs easy enough. (Takes around 30 mins all in) Taking into account the Evo motion ratio, 100N/mm front spring rate equates to a 92N/mm wheel rate and a suspension frequency of 2.5Hz. 80N/mm rear spring rate equates to a 53N/mm wheel rate and a suspension frequency of 2.35Hz. That's assuming a total vehicle weight of 1350kg, and a 60/40% weight distribution. 2.5Hz is about the max you want for a non aero race car. These figures are approx as I don't know your exact vehicle weight and unsprung weight on each corner. Unsprung weight is the weight of the wheel, tyre, knuckle assy, suspension and brakes. With an uprated rear anti-roll bar, balance should be pretty neutral, or with both standard or uprated anti-roll bars fitted, a 90N/mm rear spring would give a nice balance.
