Best "All Year Round Tyre"
Am looking at new rims (pic attached) with size being 18 x 18.5" to fit my Evo 6 GSR.
Just wanting to canvas what tyres to fit!? I am not looking for slick / track ones or winter tyres, just the best all year round tyre for the car. Any suggestions would be well received! Cheers.

Goodyear Eagle F1
Or Yokohama Advan AD08 The first ones are better in the wet and decent in dry. The second are epic in dry and decent in wet. Depends on mileage and usage really IMO. |

Decent tyres but might struggle with that much of a stretch

By that do you mean the "width"?
Would 18 x 8" be a better compromise? Cheers.

Normal road use but very low annual mileage....say sub 7k.

AD08 are ****e in cold weather (dangerous under 10 degrees c), very much a summer tyre. Best all round tyres seem to be Dunlop Direzza Star Spec ZII.

I had Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta (Spelling!) on my Scooby and was very impressed, I had used Continentals before that and they were just as grippy and a little quieter, oh and about half the price.
I have just fitted them to my Tommi and have to say I am so impressed. Just did a 1000 mile road trip to Cornawll, we travelled there and back in what I think were the worst weather days of the year! The tyres were great, really shifted the water and made me feel confident in the conditions. |

AD08 is not a all year round tyre, at least not in this country and summer only really imo, i drove to Devon over xmas holidays which is 800mile trip in mostly wet weather and it was no fun on my AD08s and it was scary at times!
Goodyeay F1 Assymetrics seems to get good reviews. Ian |

Agree, just put these on my 10, over Michelin Sports and love em!
You can get em at Mytyres.co.uk for a decent price too - bout the cheapest I found em anywhere

What about MSS Michelin Super Sports, I'm in two minds whether to put these on or the F1s next...have the Super Sports on the GT-R during summer and now changed to winter tyres but they were alright last year as all rounder

I've got the goodyears on my 9. I've been very impressed. I did a very wet day at Donington in them and they were faultless....
But also did a dry day at cadwell n they were average... Horses for courses I guess, but as an everyday all round tyre, they are very good... |

I had F1's on my TME when I bought it & they're a good tyre but not a patch on Pirelli P Zero's IMHO
Faultless in every weather, I've used them for the last 7+ years on various cars in different guises (asymmetrics/rossos etc) & haven't found anything that comes close. I pay £90 each for them fitted, on standard wheels, at my local tyre place, can't argue with that ![]() |
