Jealous of those wheels. Will get my spare set done one day

That seat damage is easily fixed. My original drivers one went like that after just one winter with a particular pair of jeans that didn't seem to agree with the Alcantara.

This was what I was faced with...

Nooooooo...

SO I decided to tackle it with a large lint remover and remove as much as I could, being careful to not apply too much pressure, and only take of the loose material only. Once I was sure it was as good as it would get I then went over it with a mini vacuum with a rotary brush. This really evened out the texture making it match the undamaged parts of the seat.
Lastly went over it with a 'White Magic' sponge to smooth it and pick up any remaining big pieces, and a final gentle vacuum with a regular attachment.

These are the results:

Thought it was about time I updated this thread on the current progress of the car
So here goes..
Started cleaning off the debris that the spoiler had left on the boot (not polished yet).

P3121286

The splits in the ends of the spoiler have now been filled & test fitted prior to going back to the spray shop to be resprayed.

P4141272

While the rear blade is off this has had a freshen up too

P2101218
P2101222

50/50 polished shot

P2101221

The rear lights were removed so that the green moss & 15 years worth of trapped polish could be cleaned from their edges. They were then polished to bring them back to their old finish.

P3231285

The top light has not yet been polished and looks much duller then the bottom.

P3231290

Finished

P3231293

The green moss has been cleaned from the very edges of the left garnish light, the right still has the black outline of the moss.

P3231286

The collection of green moss from the edge of the lights

P3231287

The paint work behind the lights has also been cleaned.

P3251306
P3251307

One number plate light cleaned up the other still caked in old polish.

P3201279

Mirrors, bonnet vent & side skirts have all been removed for repainting also allowing us to clean the paintwork behind at the same time.

P8211585
P2011213

Time to remove the front bumper so that we can sort out the yellow front headlights...only to find overspray from where the front bumper had been sprayed prior to our owning the car which also needs cleaning up

P4141279
P4141280
P4141284
P4291367 - Copy

Front of the headlight now polished.

P4291376

The front lights were then removed from the car so that I could clean the backs of them too 50/50 shot

P6301592

Some random pics

P4191319

Overspray now cleaned up

P8061554
P8211594
P1101217
P1101236

Next job...clean the salt corrosion off the ali parts

P3251299

Thankyou.... getting there...don't think it will comming out to play this year now though as we are thinking of carrying on stripping the bits off right back to a rolling chassis for a respray/sort out the underneath all at the same time

I will keep this thread updated randomly over the course of the year

PS - yours is already very very minty
