Leaking Steering rack E6

Hi guys,

I have a weird problem.
The steering rack on my E6 is leaking out of both ends..
Is this a common problem and how can I fix it?
I've never seen anything like it.

Aram.

The seals for the fluid have failed. You might be able to have it reconditioned or get a rebuild kit for it but probably cheaper to find a good used rack and replace it

Yeah the mechanicals are probably shot, do you think it's possible to replace them without taking the rack out?

No unfortunately you'd have to take the rack out to rebuild it

Quick question, to take the rack out, do you really need to remove the cross member?
