reconditioned turbo

Hi i have a evo 6 and need a replacement turbo, i was thinking of a recon one or send mine off to be reconditioned. can anyone recommend someone?? im in kent

Are they doing anything to the exhaust housing for that price? Just curious. I mean mine is rusty (on the inside) and I don't have the tools to really scrape the inside of the housing.

Usually you just get the core refurbished or replaced, if they're nice they might blast the exhaust housing?

Could be worth seeing if a billet compressor wheel is available at the same time.

Can they really blast the inside? I don't care much about the look tbh, but I am pretty sure performance is affected by the reduced internal diameter due to rust/carbon deposits.

Best ask the refurb place, they may just stick it through a parts washer or just clean up the exterior. or do nothing at all to it.
There'd have to be quite extensive carbon or rust deposits to effect performance. Considering whats usually running through them I don't think you'll get much build up.

Not like on a smokey old diesel thats clogged up it's VNT fins.
