Bye Bye BMW M3
It's taken less than a week and some quick fire-decision making.
Middle of last week I hadn't even thought about changing my BMW. I've been realising lately that the F80 just doesn't give me a lot of joy, though. It's a beautiful object, The leather/carbon interior is exquisite while still being functional. It's comfortable. The colour is stunning. And this M3 is the first with more than adequate brake setup. It's also fast. In a straight line, anyway, just don't expect to pull out from a T-junction and accelerate into a small gap in busy traffic like you can with any Evo. Recently it's been leaving me a bit cold. Cue some Autotrader and Piston-heads browsing. Test drove a used car yesterday. Agreed a deal. Picked it up today, leaving the M3 behind. How's that for a spur of the moment car change?

I’m tempted by a f80 whilst keeping the Evo. Subaru looks nice are they similar priced? Obviously the scoob will have the great 4wd advantage

always liked these. How does it drive? Always looked at is as the scooby version of the Evo X (in the looks department).

Definitely and categorically not as sharp as an Evo, and it does have a slight tendency to understeer, but the controls offer so much more in the way of communication and feedback than my M3 ever did. Also not really very fast in standard 300bhp guise. Quick, but not that quick. Max boost is 1.1 bar and it feels quite "weedy" for a fast turbo car because it's quite progressive, but then strangles a little bit at the top end. Both those things can probably be sorted quite easily. I'm only 24 hours or so into ownership and thinking about mods already, lol. Quite subtle sound exhaust as well, but with that burbly undertone. Another mod that would bring massive enjoyment... Overall, quite happy so far. Except for the Bluetooth that won't connect to my phone when I get back in the car... Maybe another mod to swap to an android nav headunit??? Not a massive fan of the wheels, but they'll do for now
