What is a Mitsubishi evolution

I am not going to ruin someone else thread so I will just have to rant on another.

Something I need to get out of my system. I am an 80's child and grew up on a healthy dose of the WRC. From RS200 to Audi Quattro, sierras to Opel manta to evo and Subaru to 207 and xsara. I knew I wanted an evo the moment I saw Tommi flying round the stages at col de turini.

This is an evo.

A rare sight nowadays.

Not similar but used all the same.

Just to restore faith that the MLR is not turning into a bonhams catalogue and there are owners out there that use them please feel free to post them here. Dirty or big exhausts hanging out them or some rally inspired livery or round a track or dare I say crashed? They are all welcome. I have no issues with the cars that are polished to perfection as long as you have take them out.

Squeekyclean32 (sue and ja) is a prime example. Perfection but used for the school run!

One day you may have that dad like me walking with their son and stopping just to point and saying now their is proper car.

Well I use mine but on a personal note wouldn't want to get it that dirty, we are all different but rest assured mine's used. And yes I'm proud to be a polisher.lol

I'm a "polisher", but I do some track days too. But, to be honest, just to add another view point. If you are a family man, and have obligations, it's tough to get your car into a hardcore event, knowing you might do some serious damage, or that the car might be a total loss from an accident, or a mistake. It would be hard to repair, or replace when you have a house payment, or your kid's doctor bills, etc.

We can't replace these cars. They're done. We can't go to our Dealerships and order another. So, I'll track mine, but I'll also take it to car shows, cruises and stand back and watch people admire it with pride. Or when people ask: "what kind of car is that"? I can enlighten them. With this, I feel my car is serving my purpose. Also though, I have nothing but deep respect for you 'weekend warriors' who are out there all the time in the gravel, the snow and the mud doing what the Evo is known for!

I can't replace mine either. I am a family man also and have owned mine 11+ years. Tongue in cheek thread showing some evo out and about not in a bubble or On a trailer being applauded for doing 13miles in as many years.
Mine is also cleaned and polished. I do all the above and have also used it as storage.

I know that buddy, I've been toying with the idea of buying another one tbh and keeping the GT for shows etc and having one to rag the life out of, I'll see how I feel over the winter months

Love mine to bits but will never treat it as a garage queen.

Use it hard a few times a month...It's just a toy to me now. Once upon a time it was a daily driver.

In reality I buy expensive bits often and do under 1k per year.

Pete you're in danger of doing the same as you did with the Mak , sod it mate just use it! If you do that it will just sit there.

So is mine. Last time I took someone out I blew the bottom intercooler pipe off it I drove it so hard. I do 2k a year but I have fun.

So even the guys that use it "hardcore" and "aint no garage queen" actually admit "yeah, but, no, but, yeah, but no but I cleaned and polished it right after" and even this thread is turning into a thread about how few miles people do and how well kept their cars are

evocop4, I can tell from your wheels your car is a garage queen and that that mud is only the result of you having to park on a temporary car park cos the main park at Sandringham was full.
