Try removing the aux belt and see if that makes it go away before diving into your engine.....I had a very similar noise and it was the Air Con clutch spot welds had broke on the pulley.....which i eventually realised after replacing my lifters and having the rocker cover on and off about 5 times.

If the noise comes and goes this also points towards the A/C clutch....It was so confusing going from an engine that sounded like the top end had done 10000's of miles with no oil and then back to purring like a kitten.

I would say that’s too loud for a lifter .

Took off the aux belt and ran just the engine and the sound is still there. So its definitely from the engine. seems like its from the head although its hard to tell. definitely very very loud.

It sounds to me like a leak... like a tiny hole somewhere ?

Have you tried compression testing the cylinders?
Can you see any links anywhere?

Compression is between 170 and 180 across all 4 cylinders. No issues there.

Not wanting to sound like a nob but how is anyone supposed to try and diagnose an engine noise from a video posted on a forum?!

If you dont know what it is and want to know - pay a professional to diagnose it whether you take the car to them or they come to the car.
