Yes, I was mailing you

It didn't fit, it touches the turbo and it "bend" the arm

I will maybe try the change the spring, it is probably the easiest mod

Edit: when we push some air in the WG, the arm moves but we can see the turbosmart fixation bending...

I didn't get the car to a dynamometer, either with HKS and EFR. I just can estimate comparing to other evo IX, so, I don't talk about figures as it could be easily challenged

I had a powerdyn estimation (550HP) but not as reliable as a dynamometer

550Hp is 450whp with a 18% loss, so...

I do think that the conf is now 550/570hp and 65/67 mkg. But no proof, no figure and don't want any controversy

Edit: figures running E85+methanol

Time to put some pump fuel and run it again, so we can see what is going on.
Why Ethanol and Methanol mixed? That is unusual.

The figure of 450whp on E85 is about right what I expect: what boost (2Bar or )

Congratulations - its a rocket for sure.
What RPM do you get 1Bar of boost? Minimum in 4th gear for example?

1bar @ 2800tr in 4. Can't do better than 1.8b in pic (impossible to go to 2B)
I run ethanol as fuel and methanol in a Motec Driven aquamist (noozle in piping)

I'll try pump fuel in a few month when we will set the SP98 conf

shame, looks like the clocking on the turbo on full race manifold is different than on mine.. on my manifold works fine

I am stoked by your EFR Fit - with no drawback for WG, and by the quick spool - 1Bar at 2800rpm is pretty amazing.

My HKS achieves 1bar by 2900rpm, and 16psi (1.1Bar) by 3000rpm.

I think 450whp at 2Bar to 2.2 bar is entirely possible and likely: hope to see the same.

I can't exceed 1.8b at that time. I will try to find why later

Running [email protected] offers enough power (probably 450/470whp) and a huge range.

Too many people on the road to make a good log nowadays

I want to delete the complete assembly of my APS dump valve. The turbo has its own, and Least plumbing we have, least risk of leaks or problems we have...

I look for some caps to plug the holes. A 35) mm female one, a 35mm male one And a little "vaccum" one.

Where could I found them? (with dedicated clamps)

Laurant,

Am curious about the change in power moving from HKS to EFR7163:
Since you run E85 & Methanol, its hard (for me at least) to estimate the difference before & after the turbo swap.

Typically HKS is considered 470bhp turbo, with pump fuel dyno like VD and DJ reading about 410whp.
Your EFR is clearly pushing in the neighborhood of 550bhp, 450whp-470whp as you estimated- but this figure is an estimate on E85+Methanol, while HKS 410whp DJ/VD is on pump.

Can you please put the two turbos in prospective- what do you "feel" or have somehow measured to be the difference?

You are measuring backpressure?
If you are can you tell us what is backpressure at 1.8Bar?

Thank you Laurant.
Your car sure is beautifully developed, the orange wheels really look cool on black.

thank you for the compliments

TBH, I think that the performance difference between the 2 turbos is very minimal.

When we tuned the EFR (@E85 but without meth), we didn't have to modify the richness. No need to add some fuel...So, the power is the same...

So the real gain is that it took a little more boost and that it keeps it a little longer @ high revs.

The feeling when driving them is the same ;à Great spool, utra responsive!

I have discuss several times this week with Geoff. He thinks I have a bit of backpressure (I don't measure it)

I have a 26PSI turbosmart actuator, but the off mode "only" reaches 20/22 PSI. So, I need to try to retension a bit the actuator arm and see if it helps.

Anyway, my HKS was absolutely overrage and was beggining to die. The EFR is only 118000rpm, but 150000rpm capable, so there is a huge fiabiliy improvement

Thank you Laurant.

Very interesting what you are saying, similar power and response.

The Fuel-Adjustment was not necessary because you did not exceed the flow-rates previously achieved by use of the HKS.

So if I read correctly: you only run 20-22psi max?

And on HKS you ran 25-26psi or more?
I mean, on E85 (& Meth) you can run HKS to 30psi.

I am curious if actually the EFR7163 achieves much lower maximum-boost due to actuator issue, than HKS, but fueling does not need modification?

For sure EFR will be able to push more top end boost.

The Backpressure - Miltek 110 Decat full exhaust does not present any chance for backpressure.

Please tell me what boost was HKS running at, and what actual boost is EFR7163 running at ?
(1.8 bar is 26psi you mentioned earlier, but than you talk about 20-22psi only).

Thank you

No, I mean that min Boost is 20-22 PSI (WG spring is 26). But i run 26 PSI "stabilized" with a short 29 PSI peak.

Was running same boost with the HKS. Neverbe able to reach 30PSI

As the turbosmart WG spring is 26PSI, but on "off mode" (0 solenoid duty), I just reach 22PSI, I think I have to retension he actuator arm. According to geoff, 6mm more.

I think the counterpressure comes from the turbo housing, not from the 76mm Milltek
