problems with exedy twin e8

i have been having these problems with my e8 exedy twin for the past couple of months. firstly, the gears began to get harder to engage, mainly 1st and reverse, but it isnt all the time, just randomly, dosnt seem to be due to temperature or anything. it has actualy got better in the past 4 weeks then i started to notice that the clutch was dragging also. there dosnt seem to be any clutch spin in any gear, so i think the friction plates are fine. lately (in the past 3 weeks or so) i have started to hear a rattling sound, which, as far as i can tell, is coming from the bell housing. the rattle is not there constantly, again just randomly, but it does seem to be getting worse. the noise is happening when the cluch is depressed, but i will have to go check if it goes away when the clutch is pressed down. none of this seems to be effecting the performance of the clutch at all, so i am a bit baffled. although i'm no mechanic. any body ever experianced this before with their exedy twin clutch??

they can get noisier as they get older, I would say, it sounds normal enough, if it aint broke dont fix it and all that

as for the gear change, what gear oil are you using, some gear oils can make changes worse than others

I recently had to remove my twin plate as one of the clutch plates collapsed. Selecting gears became harder over a couple of weeks, until I could only drive in 3rd. Was really hard to remove even with the engine out.

I havent tried it, but millers gear oil seems to be the favourite at the moment

do a search for the spec

As for exedy twins failing, mine did too, 1 plate spat its guts out, but it was only noticable when changing gear over a certain revs
