Hello from Dundee

Hello, I'm quite keen on buying my first Evo, an Evo VI specifically.

I was looking at Supra's but they seem rarer and more difficult to find a decent one for a good price.

My budget is around 6K max.

My last car was a Cupra R running around 280 bhp but it was stolen.

I've seen one on Ebay which is not too far from me, well not at the other end the country anyway.

Does anyone know if this is a nice example or stay clear? I'm slightly reluctant to buy a car from Ebay since I would prefer to buy one on here.

Also, is there anyone from the Dundee Scotland area who owns an Evo VI? Would love to meet up and chat / possibly have a passenger ride in one to make sure this is the right car for me.

Anyways. It seems like a nice site. Hopefully I can get an Evo VI soon.

Cheers.

Welcome along.

There are plenty of members in Scotland that will be around to help out

Don't restrict yourself to local ones though, make sure you travel for the right car.

Good luck with the search

Welcome along,

If you can increase your budget a tiny bit there's a nice 6 for sale on here. BigAls I think, looks very good value!

Cheers! Yeah, sound advice. Will definitely travel for the right evo.

Thanks! Might be in touch sometime soon! Already arranged to catch up with evo_stevo but would love to meet another evo owner too!

Yep. Have had a good look at that one. Its very nice.

Main problem I have is convincing the missus. I only told her last night that I'm thinking about 6K for a car. She may be OK with 7 or thereabouts at somepoint but I'll need to save more to put some aside for the mortgage (to soften the blow if that makes sense).

I may also consider going for a 5 if it helps me get a better example for the money. Only thing is I prefer the look of the Evo 6 more, especially the rear lights!

Will definitely wait for the right car.

Hi welcome to the forum.

A decent 5 will cost as much as a 6,in fact I'd say a decent 5 is harder to get. Keep your eye on both models the most important thing buying a 5/6 now is rust. Again it's getting harder to find a clean one now.
