My last Evo 6 TME was running 380/390bhp 360lbftt on standard internals and turbo for approx 10 yrs so be about 35k miles atleast at that spec and was running 1.95bar peaked at 2.2 if cold till turned down.
1. Max bhp/torque figure with dyno graph
2. How long has it been running that power and how many miles?
3. Whats it's main use? (track car or road car)
4. Who mapped the car?
5. Engine spec? (include what evo standard block it is)
1 = 390/36₩lbsftt
2 = 10yrs
3 = all road use for fun.fast rd.
4 = Steve Simpson (teg sport)
5 = standard evo 6 tme block ,pistons ,rods never touched.800cc sards,sard updated fuel reg,walbro 255.avcr.
Never missed a beat and to be honest I didnt even change the oil as much as I could have .I sold it and the new owner managed to get 10miles down the road and blew the turbo.I abused it for 10yrs lol.
I'm onto an Evo 6 at the moment and even though it's only a bit above standard power it put a rod through the block the other day .
An Mr lump is soon to be implanted

Who knows mate, judging by your last post?

Sure itís down to mapping, but also history of engine. I really hate to say it, but with age and abuse some of these engines have taken Iím almost of the opinion itís standard practice to refresh them. Seems overkill but built right a newly done engine is the way to go

The trouble (over there especially) is finding a competent builder and tuner especially, but overall I agree. With the amount of plastic and rubber parts (seals etc), aging electricals, let alone heat related metal fatigue, I think if someone intends on giving a car a hard time, simply jumping in a 20 year old car with an original engine and giving it hell and expecting it to hold up is probably not really a smart move any more.
