Evo 8 immobiliser

I'm currently sourcing all the parts I need to do a manual conversion on my Evo 9 GT-A wagon.
I'm going to change the engine loom to a manual Evo 9 and run an Evo 8 ECU as the GT-A wagons didn't have Mivec on them.
Are the 8 ECU's coded to the immobiliser unit? If they are is there a way around them and can they be recoded to my car?
I don't want to delete the immobiliser as it serves a good purpose but once I do the conversion I will need to drive it to get it remapped and properly coded back in if possible.
Are there any ECU's to avoid? am I best off with JDM ECU or an UK FQ ECU?

The evo 8 ecu uses different connectors then the 9 so you won't be able to plug the evo 8 ecu into the harness without some serious repinning.
