That was my thoughts mate but the way things are going seems a waste tbh

Nice looking 5. That's an investment. Don't track it.
Nope I'm going to be a polisher and tuck it away

Yes it's a R, new wings and bonett mate

Too good to be tinkered with

Looks great and will only appreciate in value

You need another toy for the track

And once again another Evo comes up where grade R can be brushed aside. For the age of the vehicle it's bound to have had small disagreements with other objects. As long as it wasn't rolled 500 times and repaired or clocked on the boat over from Japan then the car is spot on.

Nowt wrong with that mate. I take the grading with a pinch of salt anyway. Love it mate but I am biased. So you are going to tuck it away? Anymore pics?

Car looks great! Nothing wrong with a grade R once you know where and what the damage was, could be bent like a banana or just bonnet and wings like yours (or even less than that).

Shame about the "private sale" BS but that happens quite often it would seem.

I personally think its too low mileage / good condition (though pics are limited) to turn into a bit of a track tool, but as a lovely standard example it suits the job very well. The issue once again with a limited / very low mileage / good condition car - as nice as it is owning such machinery its also a curse as you don't want to spoil it in any way.

Once i get sorted with a new pad i'll be looking for another Evo to do all the things to that i originally planned to do to the TME

That was my worry, I wouldn't of bought it if I didn't have it properly checked out as I wouldn't know if a cars been crashed or clocked

Depends.

Will the R now always attached to the car hold back future growth in its value? If yes track it, if no enjoy it for what it is and keep it standard and pampered.

You see some of the prices of 40 - 50k for low mile 6's, not sure if that sort of price is realistic but it's what the dealers are asking.

Personally I don't think so as how many cars have a new bonnet etc over 18 years!? It's not a cut and shut so why wouldn't it be an investment?

Totally agree mate

Seen the price of the 9GT lately, it's been on pistonheads for years not selling but appreciating

As said the R was a issue for me at 1st but after further investigation knowing exactly what's been changed I'm more than happy with as I'd rather know than not,

Saying that as Rich said I'm sure there's some horrendous R's out there that are a few cars put together with super glue !!

Knowing why it's a R is key with proof too.
