Pins 4 and 5 are ground so should be OK. Might be worth checking continuity to chassis to make sure (meter on 200 ohm range and should read close to zero).

You mentioned code 82 as AYC but manual...

Since you noted that the reset didn't seem to do anything and the "NOTE" above suggests that the ECU is therefore in "fail-safe" mode. This suggests a hard fault in the ECU itself maybe?

Agree it seems unusual, not impossible, that all have failed. Do you have wheel sensor fault codes on the ayc too? If not it would imply to me the fault lies elsewhere

I have owned both, I actually prefer the front end of a E8 MR with a carbon splitter opposed to a IX.

Interms of ability they are both very similar.
