1 brand new 8mr engine, still on original gearbox and diffs but car doesn't move much. Didn't even mot it last year. Hopefully I'll get time to give it a blast this summer

Some let go at 0.9 bar, some are OK higher. Nobody knows the answer as it's car/engine dependant. I ran 1.3 for a while on my old IV engine with no issues. It even hit 1.7bar a couple of times when...

Maybe in the summer stick some cleaner in for a week and let it circulate. Drain then put some good quality inhibitor in. Might stop it from happening again.
