O forgot to say I bought the actuator from forge with the spring fitted so I don't think its a damaged diaphragm. And when fitted it was fair easy to fit not to much pulling of the arm.

I've just recently changed my rear diff. (E6), without the scanner I just connected a battery to the pump to bleed the pipe work. It seemed to fine.
