What do you mean by upper front and rear sway bars? They only have one front and one rear or am I missing something? In the UK a sway bar is an anti roll bar, are you talking about strut braces?

have you checked the relay under the bonnet? its behind the nearside shock tower.

Also try bridging pins 1 and 4 on the obd plug and see if it lights up to get any fault codes.

If you are reading the codes by bridging pins 1 and 4 I think you have to disconnect the abs relay under the bonnet to flash the ABS codes out, I would find out the ABS fault codes first as the AYC...
