I'd use brake cleaner. I use it a lot on paintwork and have never known it damage the finish, although it's always a quick spray on and microfibre to wipe off straight away.

I'm al;most certain I have a square one somewhere, but can't seem to lay my hands on it. For what it's worth, I bought it from a main dealer and don't recall it being especially expensive.

There are loads of options out there, but just make sure you by M12 x 1.5mm. Also, and especially if the car goes out on track, I would strongly recommend that you buy steel over aluminium alloy.

I think you could reasonable say about the AR1 that it's a "much better (dry) trackday tyre". In fact the AD08 was never listed by the MSA as anything other than a List 1A tyre (ie regular road tyre)...
