Thanks for the responses. The Monster box looks quite well finished. We see the value of separating it from the engine heat with a bit of ram air.

Preferred Intake/Battery Mount Options (Evo 5)

Greetings.

We are getting an Evo 5 back on to the road.

It has an OEM air intake setup to the Evo 9 turbo other than a HKS mushroom filter (behind the OEM battery installation).

To close this out...the previous owner called and said he found 98 more fasteners...along with the four piston oil squirters...likely Evo 5 variety.

Test fitted...looks like we are in business.

With temps near -10 degrees...garage struggles to be habitable for some folks. Nonetheless, we ended up updating a tool we specifically ordered to hold the wheel hub...

Even if unable to 'correct' the sections to 3 inch, a quiet system is a requirement no matter...especially where we live with lots of interested folks (ie neighbors).

Did get the last corner halfway done...lost a sway bar link nut (seized), otherwise pretty easy.

Warm enough to clean up some fasteners with the newly arrived Amazon.de wire brush! Much less...
