Today was the day the Evo evolved.

I bought a set of X Alcons off Ads on here around 7 weeks ago, with the intention of refurbishing them and changing the colour. With work and school holidays hitting Ive not had chance to get to the unit to fit until today.

I had to drill out the hubs to accept the 14mm fixings that come with the kit but it was plain sailing really. Got the kit on and my god, do they make a difference visually, makes the rims seem so full!

Glad to report the difference is night and day between the standard Brembo setup, there is just so much more feel and grip from them, I even managed to over come the ABS slightly when performing an emergency stop to test the kit. I think it may need a final bleed as the pedal still had a little softness.

The car looks filthy but here are two obligatory pics

7 weeks wait is nothing Mike, I bought my Alcon's last Nov, and they're still sitting in their boxes in my garage...!! :wallbang:

Look really good though, and nice to see some in the non-standard silver! :smthumbup

What pads have you got with them though?

Cheers guys, will feed back once I've had more time using them.

With regard bleeding them. I will get the car out after work and double check the pedal. It didn't 'creep' after pumping them but I will double check it all now the excitement has worn off

The pads are DS2500's. just what came with the kit I bought off Ads. I had these on my old MR with the standard Brembo's. They do dust a lot, just a short run had the wheels coated.

With regard the refinishing, I actually ended up doing it myself. Stripped them down completely, and took them right back to metal before repainting them. I bought the replacement pipes etc from Ross and refitted once it was all completed. Very happy with the results and saved myself a packet.
