Where a car has two turbos listed, the top turbo is standard, the second was an optional extra.
I'm confident that the materials, turbo codes and models are accurate, but some of the serial numbers have conflicting information from various sources, so the VII and later serial numbers may be a bit jumbled. I'm not sure what the serial number is for the VII GT-A turbo?
Great List and initiative, but what about the Evo 7 GT-A? I think it is TD05H-15GK2-9.0T. Same Compressor and design as VI TME but smaller hotside like the Evo IV. Also I believe the code for the Stock Evo X turbo is TD05H-152G6-12T. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be included but I just noticed they're not on the list.

The "code" simply describes the core/compressor/turbine size, direction of flow and materials - but there's more to a turbo than that.
In the case of the VI vs VIII MR turbo, there isn't much difference between them. The only difference that I'm aware of is the single flap wastegate arrangement on the VIII MR turbo compared to the dual flap wastegate arrangement on the VI turbo.
I'm not sure which model the VI RSX is based on, but bearing in mind that the RS models in Japan could be ordered with either the RS turbo or the GSR turbo as a factory option, it doesn't really matter which turbo is fitted for authenticity's sake.
However, if fitting a different type of turbo, even if only the turbine wheel material is different, a remap would be needed.
The best way to find out which turbo is fitted to your brother's car is to attach a small mirror to a stick and check the code on the compressor housing against the table on page 1 of this thread.
Hi To all,
I have taken a picture of my cold side turbo casing today, and I can't find it in the box on the first page. The last two letters are different...
My turbo code is: 49378-01540
Anyone know what turbo this is? I have searched the internet and found it is a 9,8 hotside 16G, this model: TDO5HR-16G6/9.8T
This turbo should be Inconel...
I found the following information on a Tomei Arms description page, hope it helps:

I found a turbo on an evo that's not on the list today.. Tried to figure out what model of car it came off of.
the numbers are: 49178-01580. That indicates that it's a TME RS turbo BUT it also says: TD05HRA-16G6-9.8.. and that turbo doesn't "exists" according to the list. Someone shed some light on this please?
Just after a little help.
I'm after a replacement exhaust housing for my 80 series and wondering if a housing from a different turbo would fit? If so, which one/ones?
Cheers
