Engine Building Help!

About to be embarking on rebuilding my engine and can't find a great step by step guide on all the tips and tricks when rebuilding a modified engine.

If someone would be willing to give me a run through or a write up on how to do it that would be massively appreciated. I am a mechanic by trade but since I have never ripped into one of these engines specifially, it would be great to know what to do roughly!

I know the basics of rebuilding and engine, just don't know the finiky bits like degree'ing the cams etc to suit how much material is taken off the head etc.

Specs are:

Bottom end:
Block: (Hope all clearances are within spec and give it a quick hone)
Standard Crank (Measure end float and out of round, Get polished)
Bridgeway H Beams,
Weisco Forged pistons with rings and gudgeon pins
ACL main bearings (5-9 Upgraded Thrusts( Standard size))
ACL big end bearings (Standard Size)
ARP Main studs
Ross Sport balance shaft delete kit
New hydraulic tensioner
OEM Oil pump
OEM Gasket Set
Tomei Oil slicer plate

Head:
Kelford 272 Cams,
Piper Cam Pulleys,
Manley springs and retainers with valvelocks
OEM IX MR Headgasket
New Valve stem seals
Kiggly HLA
ARP L19 Head studs

Was also thinking of getting the whole rotating assembly balanced so when its assembled its as balanced as it can be!

Like I said, any help or a write up would be greatly appreciated!

Print off the manuals that are on here very useful and will tell you everything you need to know and all the spec and clearances / torque settings

Get the block measured and your pistons if you not confident doing it yourself don't just hope it's ok you will want the correct pistons to wall clearance.

As for balance shaft delete you will have to turn the bearings round so they blank off the oil gallery holes
If you didn't already know that . I prefer to leave them in have had engines with and without balance shaft but it's up to you.

Also when using Wisco pistons just make sure the oil sqirters don't hit the pistons as they will be very close I have had to slightly bent them on both my engine I have built using wiseco pistons

as previously stated... download the manuals. The engine overhaul section has most of what you need.
ACL bearings in std size will probably give you too much clearance out of the box, but that will depend on the crank size you have as not all engines are the same. ACL does provide slightly undersized bearings too..

Yeah, when I rip it all down I'll measure the clearances for the bearings and if they are out, or off I'll have the mains line bored and get oversized ACL's.

Have a YouTube search for 'JRP Performance' they are a tuning shop in the US and post a lot of videos about engine building tips. Found some of them very interesting
I've watched plenty of his. I also recommend purchasing HPA's online courses. I've got the full wiring course and it is very informative and step by step, I will be purchasing the engine building and calibrating when the time comes.

read this book and learn how Important is about Engine cleanliness when assembling and clearances...learn from the master and understand the block and how important Block preparation and cleanliness is to a successful new engine... ignore it being mini A-series engines ? principles apply the same in block preparation...
