Hi, I have a fully forged Evo 6 and currently run it on Millers nanodrive 5w40 fully synthetic. Just wondered if they was a better weight oil to use or still to what I use. Cheers

If you’re still at standard / Stage 1 power then 5W40 should be fine but if you’re at higher power then you could likely benefit from a different weight oil like you said.

My 9 is running 470 and I use 10W50.

Cheers for the replies. It's currently running 375 Bhp but have all the bits to go to 480 Bhp + so I might look at changing the oil on the next change. Thanks again.
The oil weight should be matched to suit the engine bearing clearances and normal operating temps that is specific to your usage and spec.

Out of interest, which out of "bearing clearances and normal operating temps" is the more important? I'm assuming, perhaps totally incorrectly, that a 10W50 will be "thicker" than, say, a 5W30 (through a temp range of 70-100 degs C), and therefore better suited to an engine with larger bearing clearances?

Or is it a whole lot more complex than that?
