Right, excuse my total lack of knowledge on this but...what do all these programs/bits do.

What does evoscan do?...what bits would i need (evo 6)

What is the program for mapping? or adjusting/looking at the map.

Why the different cables etc.1.3u etc ?

Would like to look at my map (not adjust) (ecutek)just interested and monitor things/sensors etc.....which software?...what cables.?

Are they plug into laptop and away you go.?

sorry to sound thick...but i am:lol:

thanks:thumbup:

Evoscan = program used for datalogging

1.3u cable = cable that can be used for mapping later (E7 onwards) ECU's and datalogging E5's onwards

Openport 2.0 cable = cable used for mapping E5-10 and also datalogging

ECUFlash = program for looking at / changing maps.

so what he needs is a openport 2.0 cable and Ecuflash

Just search google for it and youll find the website that sells the openport cable.

Thanks:thumbup:...so if i had evoscan, ecuflash and a openport 2.0 then id be able to look at map and monitor sensors etc etc (not looking at changing the map at all)

Yes, you can even log to SD card if the OP2 is connected to the OBD port, without the use of a laptop.

Phil I was going to put up a similar thread myself.

My car is still running the PB ecu is this a problem? - I would like to get some data before it's gets removed.

So to get started datalogging my FQ330 I need the following?
Evoscan
Openport 2.0 cable
Map sensor

You can use the 1.3u cable for logging also, map sensor not needed unless you want to log manifold pressure and not just ECU load.

Nousername (Ant) had some brackets made up to mount an OEM MAP sensor on, not sure if he still has any.

cheers :smthumbupNo you need the OP2.0 cable to read/write to 5s and 6s
Removing pin 9 is only really applicable to evos 7/8/9 as it has been related to faulty ETACS units.
