www.trldevelopments.co.uk
Have a look in the trader section of this forum, they are Platinum traders and have a section showing the sort of work they do with lots of different Evos.

Is warranty any concern? If not a remap/uprated fueling and a 3inch exhaust will see you in the 400/400 region no problem on a manual car.

TRL did mine and it transformed the car into a lot more than what I thought it should be in the first place. :smthumbup

Cool. Interesting that you are getting in to the stock ECU stuff now.
Gary has also got the X stuff and is keen to get going with it, but just finding the time!

Sorry for the ignorance but what is the point of ECUTek now that the stock ECU has been hacked?

Is it something to do with the warranty? I guess X ECU's have not been hacked yet?

Ecuflash allows you to keep your warranty intact, it's almost undetectable of you go for a warranty claim through Mitsi, As soon as your x Ecu is used with Ecutek Mitsi are notified somehow and your warranty becomes void (added: for certain claims). Think I got that right lol. When I get all the bits I need I will be finding someone that can flash mine :)
Ecutek is useless IMO unless you have ran out of warranty, there are quote a few members who have used Ecutek tho with great results :)

Ecutek Does not Void your waranty it advises Mitsubishi that tha car has been mapped and May question/reject certain waranty claims.

Just to Add

Les potts had an engine replacement after re-map under warranty, Because the Failure was a Genuine manufacturing defect.

Les i hope you didnt mind me saying.

Did Mitsi 'inspect' the map after the engine let go?

No. The valve had warn on the collet and the valve dropped. Nothing to do with the map.

If they thought it was a Map problem I believe the Ecu would get sent to ecutek by mitsi whether it had Ecutek Password request or not.

Sort of true but many people with previous models got warranty claims rejected as the dealers believed the car to be remapped. The previous models did not flag up when it was mapped. I think it's all down to the dealer at the end of the day.

Nothing to do with the dealers at all, we will do as many warranty claims as we can(its all work) But we have to make sure someone is going to pay us for the work.
If the warranty has been voided by remapping the car with ecutek we will have to get approval first and Mitsi say yes or no not the dealer

I think some dealers have a missunderstanding. Ive heard of Evo X customers that have had a re-map and the dealer has rejected an electric window problem. Clearly not mapping issue. the Customer was told there and then at reception desk, no call to Mitsi.

I think that Evo X owners need to be aware, And question any rejection like this. I think they got the elecric window motor replaced in the end after a call to mitsi.
