After a long drive in a stripped out shell with no heaters and std skinny tyres in the rain off boost at 60mph lol I arrived at grayw's had my 5 mapped on the std ECU
what a difference:D well pleased its super smooth, with almost 450 fb torque and 430 bhp :smthumbup The drive home was fun sideways most of the time:D

lovely job mate - thats more or less what my old green used to make -

goes like sh!t off a shovel from any revs
you'll enjoy that :smthumbup

How much boost are you using to get those figures?

peaks at 1.9 bar holds 1.6 1.7

but I think a lot of it is to do with cams and the way they have been setup;)

Torque drops off steeply doesnt it ??

Do they all do that ??

Looks to be making peak power low in the rev range, I guess it was set up like that for a reason?

28-02-2011, 12:24
It should hold the power a little better at the top on that turbo tbh.

yes i think your right! i dont know what actuator the car has ? and it struggled to hold boost! but overall iam pleased :smthumbup

yes mainly for instant grunt out of a corner:smthumbup

Looks to drop torque in a big way as soon as it hits peak... also drops off power too early. Why is AT:14 and IT:26

It's only 12 above AT can't see a big problem with that, the car has had 14runs things do get hot with even the best fans!

Look at the 300 lb/ft points, approx 4300 to 6600, not to bad, quite similar to mine. The scalling on the graph makes it look like a big drop, but if you look at it another way, it's a big peak.

Key is you are happy as dyno numbers can mean nothing but if the car is how you wanted it then it is perfect :)

yes its all french to me:lol: just found out the actuator is a std 9 one do i need a better type?

thanks andy

They can run good boost so I would say no, what controller do you have?

3 port and boost set on the map?

The duty can be tweaked by rpm on that to get more at the top :)

To be honest, that's a big drop off.
My IV made 350lbft at 4750rpm, and was still over 300lbft at 6700rpm
In the space my torque has dropped 50lb, yours has lost 200!!!
I bet it "feels" quick due to the way the boost is obviously coming in hard, but really needs to hold that torque longer.

That's not apples to apples though, if the OP's car had been set up to only peak at 350, it would have lost only 70 lb/ft rather than the 160 it has lost. How did yo get 200? 440 to 280

Its dropping off because its not holding boost well on the dyno , might be very different on the road

OK, 160 ;) You win.
Still a lot!
It was *meant* to hold torque longer if this is who I think it is...

as said its what it feels like on the road that matters but heres my old graph:

same turbo - same peak power /torque as the o/ps car but run in 4th gear not 3rd.

My graphs here as comparison:

http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l100/gumble_01/Scan2.jpg

holds 400lbs/ft from 3480rpm to 5400rpm... done a 12.1 1/4 with missshift into 4th with stock clutch. Easily do a 11.8 if I get it all perfect on the line. Also holds 400 hp to redline! Stock 9 turbo dropping from 1.7 bar peak... I would expect a green to hold power and torque better especially being able to run the boost on a forge engine. However its a 3rd gear run and I cant see the rpm scaling... excessive at and it difference and dont know where rpm was taken from either. As long as owner is happy thats what matters :D but its healthy discussion none the less.
