EVO VIII FQ300 running basically standard apart from HKS hardpipe,K&N,exedy clutch & TTV lightend flywheel.Boost controller & fuel pump next to get.
Then after a remap what kind BHP could i expect,approx how much would it cost & to what level?

Standard so must be 9.8,just FQ not MR

The question is kinda the wrong way around, mapping is finding what that particular engines capable of and changing the map to suit.

And about 390bhp with the fuelpump. 350 without.

as above with 9.8, 10.5 seen 420+, wouldnt go any more without considering a rod change

So wouldn't take much to get above 350bhp, without stressing 9.8turbo?
Not after huge power just quick raise between 350-400 at the mo...

turbos are good for it, its the rods that are the weak part

BHP does not fail rods, torque kills rods. 1.6/7 bar max on 7 rods. imo.

i ran 1.7 bar on my 9.8T fq300. Got around 365bhp with similar torque. i then fitted an 80 Series, ran it at 1.85, and the results shot up!!!:D

If it's still on the Super Drager exhaust, with cat, VIII GSR/FQ cams, 9.8T hotside, plastic bov and oem boost control, I'd be surprised if you saw much over 375 bhp after a remap.

For cheap extra power, decat it before the remap - it could add 10 bhp to your peak power output and throttle response will be noticeably better - all for around 50 for the decat pipe.
