Hi all,

First time Evo owner looking for some advice on servicing. Am I better off going to main Ralliart dealer or specialist for servicing?

Car is UK 2007 Evo 9 MR FQ 360, 35000 miles. Stage 1 engine mods and aftermarket suspension and brakes. I use car everyday and plan to do handful of track days.

I'm based in Peterborough, Cambs and am trying to toss up whether to use local Mitsi/Ralliart Peterboro garage or a local specialist mentioned on here (NR Autosport @ Lincoln I think is nearest to me).

I've generally gone to specialist's in past as I've had imports & they're happier doing track day prep and dealing with modded cars etc but the specialist I normally use can't do the AYC service (Roger Clark Motorsport @ Leicester - they're primarily a Scooby specialist).

I'm veering towards a specialist but thought I'd ask before spending the s

Cheers,

Rathy.

Just make sure any specialist you go to has the MUT device for servicing the AYC and diagnostics. Many do, but double check.

Being 2007 is it still under warranty? If so take it to Mitsubishi/Ralliart Main dealer and get it checked over while its being serviced, they'll put right anything thats covered under their warranty.Even though the servicing will be expensive it may save you money on having to replace any parts in the near future.

If the warranty has ended im sure you'll get pointers from other MLR members on where to take(and NOT take) your Evo to in your area.

Nick at NR will come highly recommended by members on here.

Take it to a specialist rather than a RA dealer is my vote.

It can still have warranty work done regardless of where you have it serviced. In my unfortunate experience, the main dealers are utter crap.

Take it to NR Autosport mate. Don't bother with a main dealer. At a dealer you could have any numpty working on your car. At NR you'll have one of a small team who work on Evos every day of the week.

There's guys from as far afield as Essex and Scotland travel to have Nick and the NR guys look after their cars (myself included - from Central Scotland)

Thank you all for input. Confirms my suspicion that's its better at specialist and have booked in with NR Autosport having spoken to Nick; seems very helpful, particularly on the track prep side of things :)
