Raising boost level for launch control...

Hey guys,

Loving how the car runs ever since I reflashed to tephra mod. For my launch control, I noticed my boost rises up to 6-7psi... Is it possible to raise the boost for launch control?

You can add some negative timing into the load areas that the launch control is hitting and that will increase it slightly.

On my E3 it builds 20psi stationary but that's because I've re-written the ECU code to allow me to have a static timing figure when the launch control is active.

Would that cause any issues when driving normally Andy or will the map only be used for launching if this is done?

Make sure you are not running an FP Green or anything with a Mag wheel:)

I wouldnt blame anyone, I know the risks doing all this stuff so its fine with me :)

raised it up to 10psi from 6-7psi. dont want it to go any higher lol

Ok when driving, between 5k and 6.5k rpm it loses power but after 6.5 it just picks up power again. Any other ways of raising the boost when launch control is activated without making the car lose power when driving at high rpm?

You are catching the cels with the negitive timing in, what boost are you running?

The 'ideal' way is to set it up like I have it on my early evo where you hijack the timing calculation routine within the ECU so that it fixes the timing value when the launch control is active but you don't have to modify the main timing map and so when you're running you get no dip in/out of the negative.

However, this would require a code re-write to be able to initiate it and so is probably one for Tephra to add to his ever growing list of things to do
