the car seems to be cutting out and over boosting i bought the car with the conversion already done,i was told it might be the ecu ? any advive:rolleyes:

depend if you are using evo 4 injectors etc etc engine is a engine at the end of day all thats diff between 4 and 6 is thrust design ;)

if using the evo 6 injectors i think you need to use the 6 ecu aswell, not sure if this would make the car over boost or cut out though... :confused:

yea whatever ecu you are running you need the injectors to match, if your ecu is in a metal case then is a 5 or later ecu and therefore will require red injectors iirc, if its a black plastic one it should have e4 injectors, not sure on colour though, i did my own conversion and used e5 ecu on the e5 engine sensors, but using the evo 4 lambda sensor,

ye it looks like the way to go check the injectors and the ecu,the guy i bought the car of had no idea what had been done,i might just trade it for a 5-6

the wrong injectors will cause it to run excessivley rich or lean and could lead to bad idle etc,

if your injectors are red, then you should have metal ecu, if it aint then thats your problem,

no no no no no ,evo4 steel case ecu yellow injectors510cc ,evo5/6 plastic black case reddish/purple 560cc,but i doubt if this is the cause of your problems ,over boost split pipe or pipe blown/fell off or most likely actuator siezed or worn out , dodgy idle again check small vacuum boost pipes or if you have a vta dump valve that would cause it either,does it stall when you clutch it coming to lights or is it just running like a pig

ok it yellow injectors with the steel ecu,now i checked the boost it boosted to 10 easy but then slightly slower to 15, then its like theres a boost limiter, like the engine just go,s dead for a splitt second,like total cut out and then go,s again

Some 4's seem to have a boost cut around 1.7bar (miles too high), others seem to have it around 1.3bar (normal on most evo's).
